The 2022 Kia Sorento Plug-In Hybrid comes in two trim levels: SX and SX Prestige. Kia now offers a total of six exterior paint colors for both trims Silky Silver, Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl, Steel Gray, Platinum Graphite, Runway Red, and Gravity Blue. Some of the standard exterior features on the Sorento Plug-In Hybrid include a front grille in gloss black, sport body styling, satin chrome roof rails, power-adjustable and heated outside mirrors, mirror-mounted LED turn signal indicators, and a rear spoiler in gloss black. The Plug-In Hybrid also includes a panoramic sunroof, full LED projector-beam headlights, daytime running lights, auto light control, 19-inch wheels, and a smart power liftgate.

The 2022 Kia Sorento Plug-In Hybrid also features a standard 1.6-liter turbo plug-in hybrid engine with 261 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine runs on gasoline while the motor runs on electricity, making this model a true Hybrid vehicle. When running solely on electricity, the motor has a horsepower of 89 and up to 244 pound-feet of torque.

The 2022 Kia Sorento Plug-In Hybrid has torque-vectoring all-wheel drive as a standard, with a center-locking differential. The vehicle has an average charging time of about three hours and 25 minutes for full capacity, which can power the vehicle for up to 32 miles on its own. The 2022 Sorento Plug-In Hybrid has a standard EPA estimated miles per gallon of 35 in the city and 33 on the highway, with its miles per gallon equivalent for its hybrid capabilities at an impressive 79.

Interior for the 2022 Kia Sorento Plug-In Hybrid SX trim the choice of Black SynText or Gray SynTex seating materials. Black, Gray, and Navy Genuine Leather are available for the SX Prestige.
