The 2023 Kia Sorento is a modern, sleek, and stylish three-row crossover SUV that can carry up to seven people. It has plenty of power, and it's great for fun family trips. Here are some of this appealing, luxurious SUV's best features.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
With the 2023 Sorento, you can choose from eight trim levels: LX, S, X-Line S AWD, EX, X-Line EX AWD, SX, SX Prestige AWD, and X-Line SX Prestige AWD. The angular grille blends well with the automatic headlights, and it has KIA lettering in the middle. With front-wheel drive, you'll get 6.9 inches of ground clearance. All-wheel-drive models have 8.2 inches. The base LX comes with a smaller lower grille, 17-inch wheels, front and rear skid plates, heated power side mirrors with turn signals, and a rear spoiler.
The S, X-Line S AWD, and EX have 18-inch wheels, and you can add a panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade. With the EX and higher trim levels, you'll get a smart power tailgate and LED fog lights.
Engine (Power)
The 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine produces 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. It has an eight-speed automatic transmission. With the EX and higher trims, there's a turbocharged version that offers 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. It uses an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Performance
The Sorento has a smooth, comfortable drive, maneuverable power steering, an independent suspension, and excellent acceleration. The fuel tank holds 17.7 gallons. With front-wheel drive, you'll get 24 mpg in urban areas and 29 mpg on larger roads. With all-wheel drive and the turbocharged engine, you can go 21 mpg in city traffic and 28 mpg on the highway. The turbocharged motor can reach 60 mph in 6.7 seconds.
With the LX, S, and X-Line S AWD, you can tow up to 2,000 pounds. With other trims, you can pull up to 3,500 pounds. You can choose eco, sport, comfort, smart, or custom driving modes. With all-wheel drive, you'll also get a snow mode.
Interior
The base LX comes with a 4.3-inch driver instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker sound system, and audio, phone, and cruise controls on the steering wheel. With the S and higher trims, you'll get navigation, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless charging, voice recognition, dual-zone climate control, and heated front seats. The EX and higher trims have an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and the SX Prestige AWD and X-Line SX Prestige AWD both have a HomeLink universal garage door opener, a heated steering wheel, and cooled leather seats.
Safety Features
The Sorento LX comes with lane-keeping assistance, pedestrian detection, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and lane departure warning. Driver attention warning, a rearview camera, and parking assistance are standard as well. With the EX and higher trims, you'll also get cyclist detection, junction turning detection, and highway driving assistance. The SX Prestige AWD and X-Line SX Prestige AWD have blind-spot monitoring and a surround-view monitor with images from four cameras.
