The Niro EV’s Interior

Seating and Capacity

The 2024 Niro EV can seat five occupants, and the driver and front passenger have heated seats. The connected rear bench is split 60-40 and can fold down for added cargo space. The cabin has over 99 cubic feet of space, and all seats are trimmed in cloth and SynTex synthetic leather. This year’s Niro EV features a dual-level cargo floor with a hatch that can be lifted to reveal a hidden secondary cargo compartment. 

New Tech

The Niro EV features a push-button starter and a dual-zone automatic climate-control system. The windshield wipers have rain-sensing technology, and the rearview mirror has day/night modes for better visibility in low light. The power-adjustable side-view mirrors have integrated turn-signal indicators as well as heating functions.

The front windows and windshield boast solar-control glass to keep the cabin cool, and the windshield also features sound-absorbing glass to reduce outside noise. The tinted glass in the rear provides privacy for backseat occupants and helps keep out the sun’s heat.

The Niro EV’s Connectivity

This year’s Niro EV is equipped with an onboard voice-recognition system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM, and the Kia Connect smartphone-integration program. The included Kia Access App lets you remotely control your Niro EV by starting the engine or climate-control system from outside your SUV, and you can also schedule maintenance reminders directly from your smartphone. The onboard Bluetooth tech allows you to connect multiple devices to your Niro EV.

The electric crossover’s infotainment system features a 10.25-inch touchscreen that houses applications for entertainment, convenience, navigation, and even vehicle diagnostics. This infotainment hub is connected to a premium six-speaker audio system with two tweeters mounted to the dashboard for unbeatable sound quality. You can access your Niro EV’s health and stats through the 10.25-inch digitized instrument cluster.

Collision-Avoidance

The included Blind Spot Collision Warning program includes Parallel Exit, which helps you safely exit your Niro EV on the traffic side from a parallel parking spot. The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist is quick to detect danger and will apply the brakes to help you avoid impact. The Assist includes detection software for pedestrians, cyclists, and incoming vehicles as you’re turning left at junctions.  

The Rear Cross-Traffic Assist uses cameras on the corners of your Niro EV’s front bumper to detect other vehicles crossing your path as you reverse.

Lane-Keeping

The Departure Warning, Keeping Assist, and Following Assist work together to keep your Niro EV centered in its lane and at a safe distance from the car ahead. The Keeping Assist can even apply brief corrective steering to bring you back into your lane if you drift out of it.
