The spectacular 2024 Kia Sportage Plug-In Hybrid offers a fully electric 34-mile driving range, impeccable powertrain performance, and plenty of intuitive features. But with two trim levels to choose from this year, how do you know which Sportage PHEV is right for you?

A Detailed Guide to the 2024 Kia Sportage Plug-In Hybrid’s Variants

2024 Kia Sportage Plug-In Hybrid

The Sportage PHEV trims have more similarities than differences. Each PHEV SUV has a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and a hybrid system with an AC electric motor. The gas engine produces 177 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, while the electric motor provides 89 horsepower and 224 lb-ft of torque. The net output of the Sportage PHEV is 261 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.

Both models have a reliable six-speed automatic transmission, a rotary shifter dial, and four selectable drive modes. You can switch between Normal and Sport to manage suburban and highway driving, while the Snow driving mode is optimized for traction on slick roads. The Smart driving mode allows the PHEV to automatically adjust engine performance to driving demands. This PHEV can be charged in two hours when an EVSE 240-volt charger is used.

X-Line

The entry-level Sportage PHEV has driver assistance features like intelligent speed limit assist to advise the driver about current speed limits and lane departure warning to actively warn the driver about lane drifting. This model has a dual-level cargo floor, which provides a secure hidden storage compartment in the cargo area for your valuables, as well as a stylish panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade.

The X-Line model comes with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with built-in navigation for your convenience, along with an expansive 12.2-inch instrument display on the dashboard for prime visibility of your essential vehicle information.

X-Line Prestige

The X-Line Prestige model is outfitted with extra Drive Wise software, such as the blind spot view monitor to provide a real-time view of the vehicle’s blind spot on the digital cluster and forward collision with additional junction turning detection. This model also comes with parking collision avoidance that activates when the PHEV is in reverse and a front park distance warning. The remote smart parking feature allows the vehicle to park itself remotely.

This trim comes with comfort upgrades, such as heated and ventilated front seats for year-round comfort, a heated steering wheel, and a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with two-way lumbar support and driver’s seat memory. This model also has solar control glass that is designed to reduce cabin heat through the windshield. Interior mood lighting with multiple LED color options is also standard.

Both Sportage PHEV trims are crafted to provide optimal comfort and convenience. Visit Coughlin Kia of Newark in Newark, OH to take your favorite model on a test drive.
