A Detailed Guide to the 2024 Kia Sportage Plug-In Hybrid’s Variants

The Sportage PHEV trims have more similarities than differences. Each PHEV SUV has a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and a hybrid system with an AC electric motor. The gas engine produces 177 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, while the electric motor provides 89 horsepower and 224 lb-ft of torque. The net output of the Sportage PHEV is 261 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. 

Both models have a reliable six-speed automatic transmission, a rotary shifter dial, and four selectable drive modes. You can switch between Normal and Sport to manage suburban and highway driving, while the Snow driving mode is optimized for traction on slick roads.
