The cars at your local Kia dealer are equipped with many advanced Kia safety features that make driving a safer experience. The peace of mind that comes with a safer ride is a bonus. Whether you’re in the city, on the highway, or parking, there’s a feature to enhance your safety. Let’s take a look at some of the features in detail.

Auto Emergency Braking Technology

One of Kia’s safety technologies is an automatic emergency braking feature, so your car always has your back when you can’t respond to the situation on your own. The system will warn you about the collision before applying the brakes, and then the emergency braking feature kicks in if you don’t brake soon enough.

Your car can warn you about collisions with pedestrians, cyclists, and other drivers. The feature works while you’re driving straight and when you’re turning at a junction.

Highway Driving Assist

Highway Driving Assist works on certain federal highways. It allows you to relax and regain some energy, as the vehicle takes care of changing your speed based on the posted speed limit. It also helps you maintain a safe distance from the car in front of you.

This feature and Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go both help make highway driving more enjoyable; they both make sure you remain at a comfortable speed and keep a safe distance from the car in front of you at all times.

Remote Smart Parking Assist

Remote Smart Parking Assist makes it simpler to navigate tight parking spaces. Instead of trying to squeeze yourself out of the car when there’s almost no room to do so, you can line the car up with a parking space and then vacate the vehicle. A button on the key fob then lets you maneuver the vehicle into the parking space.

If there’s no room beside the vehicle to get back in the car later, then you can also use this feature to get the car out of the parking space before you climb back in.

Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist Reverse

If someone walks behind your car while you’re backing up, then your vehicle will detect the obstacle and automatically apply your brakes. Using this feature, as well as the Surround-View Monitor, makes getting in and out of parking spaces a whole lot easier.

Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist and Warning

Your car can detect objects in your blind spot and will let you know if there’s a vehicle there. The system won’t let you change lanes while there’s a car in your blind spot, keeping you safe from collisions.
