Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly adventure or an exciting way to exercise, there is no shortage of activities in the area. From sledding to skiing and ice skating, Newark has something for everyone. In this article, we’ll cover three of the best winter activities near Newark for you and your family to enjoy.

Ice Skating at Lou & Gib Reese Ice Arena

Home to the Central Ohio Figure Skating Club, the Lou and Gib Reese Ice Arena is a beautiful venue for ice skating. The arena itself is a giant, indoor, refrigerated ice rink. In addition to skating, you can take lessons at the arena, including hockey, figure skating, and speed skating.

If you’d like, you can also host an ice-skating party here. Lou and Gib Reese Ice Arena is a great family-friendly activity to enjoy during the winter months. Lou and Gib Reese Ice Arena is also a great place to host a birthday party. It is located at 936 Sharon Valley Rd, Newark.

Sledding at Infirmary Mound Park

The second winter activity on our list is sledding at Infirmary Mound Park. This popular park is located at 4351 Lancaster Rd, Granville, just a short drive from Newark. The sledding hill at Infirmary Mound Park is a moderate one, with a slope of about 35 degrees.

Though the hill is easy enough for beginners, it’s still great for kids and adults. When you visit this park, make sure that you have a sled or a snowboard with you. One of the best things about this park is that it’s open all year round.

Ice Skating at the Buckeye Lake Ice Rink

If you’re looking for a new and exciting way to enjoy the outdoors during the winter, the Buckeye Lake Ice Rink is the perfect spot! The rink is open daily from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. from December 15th – February 16th and features a variety of public skating sessions. The rink is also home to the Buckeye Lake Figure Skating Club, which offers open skating, private lessons, and figure skating instruction.

The rink has a variety of activities for everyone, including birthday parties and a snack bar. There is also an arcade and game room for kids to enjoy. Buckeye Lake Ice Rink is located at 390 Woody Hayes Dr, Columbus, making it less than a 30-minute drive from Newark.
