From trips around town to adventures off the beaten path, the 2024 Kia Sportage hybrid does it all with outstanding efficiency and style. Its spacious interior offers plenty of room for people and gear, and its standard tech and driver assistance features make every trip safer and more convenient.

2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid Basics

The Sportage Hybrid provides both power and efficiency with its 1.6-liter turbo hybrid system, which produces a combined 258 lb.-ft. of torque and a best-in-class 227 horsepower. Standard front-wheel drive models can travel up to 43 miles on a gallon of gas, according to EPA estimates, while all-wheel drive models achieve 38 MPG combined. Sportage Hybrid models with all-wheel drive also have an increased ground clearance of 8.3 inches, so they’re ready to take on uneven terrain.

The Sportage Hybrid’s suspension provides a smooth ride for up to 5 passengers in a roomy cabin. The comfort of rear-seat passengers isn’t overlooked, with a class-leading 41.3 inches of rear legroom and reclining rear seats. Dual-zone auto climate control lets the driver and front passenger choose separate temperatures for customized comfort. The Sportage Hybrid also has a best-in-class 39.5 cu. ft. of cargo space, which expands to 73.7 cu. ft. when you fold the second-row seats flat.

Regular Kia maintenance ensures your Kia will always operate at peak performance and deliver the perfect driving experience you expect. As your Kia dealer, we want to tell you about some examples of maintenance we can perform to keep your car in great condition.

Examples of Kia Maintenance Available at Your Kia Dealer

Headlight Bulb Replacement

Headlight bulbs have a very varied lifespan, ranging from 500 to 30,000 hours, depending on the type of bulbs in your Kia. These might not sound like long lives, but bulbs are usually only used for relatively brief periods at night. A bulb’s lifespan can also be reduced by issues in the electrical system, as bulbs are very sensitive to fluctuations in the electrical current.

Replacing a bulb is very quick, and we recommend replacing both bulbs even if only one has failed. The reason for this is bulbs are installed in pairs, and if one bulb fails, the other will fail soon afterward. Installing two new bulbs saves you time and money as you won’t need to return in a few days to get the second bulb replaced.

When it comes to replacing parts in your car, it’s wise to opt for genuine OEM parts. Rather than gradually turning your vehicle into Frankenstein’s monster of mismatched generic aftermarket components, OEM car parts are all identical to Kia’s original manufacturing specifications. They’re perfectly compatible, better quality, more durable, and designed to optimize the lifespan and performance of your car. You can ask for more guidance on OEM components at your local Kia dealership.

Zero Compatibility Issues

OEM components are designed by Kia with precisely the same dimensions and technical specs as the original part being replaced. This means they fit seamlessly into your vehicle and you have no need to worry about compatibility issues.

Generic car parts, on the other hand, often need to be altered before installation. Even then, they can never match the vehicle as perfectly as genuine components, which tends to cause performance problems down the road.

Far Superior Quality

You can rarely beat the quality of an OEM car part. Kia has an excellent reputation in engineering and manufacturing. To uphold this reputation, they maintain strict standards in all components they build, including each OEM car part. As vehicle performance depends on the quality of each component, this promise of quality is worth its weight in gold.

Guaranteed Reliability

When you install a generic aftermarket car part, you need to cross your fingers and hope it lasts. Not so with Kia OEM car parts. Long-term performance is assured when you know that each component has been built by the original manufacturer. This reliability is also frequently guaranteed by a generous warranty.

Reduced Wear and Tear

When newly installed car parts don’t fit optimally and are inferior in quality, as with most aftermarket car parts, they wear out faster. On top of this, they also accelerate wear and tear in connected components. This can dramatically lessen the longevity of your car while also increasing the number of faults and repairs.

Enhanced Vehicle Value

You may want to sell your car in the future. If so, the buyer will be happy to hear you’ve always used genuine OEM components. This can significantly increase the resale value of your vehicle.

When it comes to keeping your car’s engine healthy, fresh motor oil is vital. If your motor oil becomes too old, it will stop properly protecting the engine from friction, heat, debris, and corrosion. The results can be catastrophic for your car. Read on to learn the benefits of routine oil changes at your local Kia dealer and how frequently you should refresh your motor oil.

Enhance Your Engine’s Performance

The lubrication that motor oil provides keeps the engine’s many moving parts working smoothly with minimal friction. However, as motor oil ages, it gradually loses its lubricating qualities, which causes an increase in friction and drop in power and performance.

Motor oil also cleans dirt, metal fragments, and other contaminants from the pistons, cylinders, valves, rods, crankshaft, camshaft, and other engine components. This debris mostly collects in the oil filter but will eventually cause the oil to thicken into an ineffectual sludge that can no longer clean, lubricate, and protect the engine. Routinely changing your oil ensures that your oil remains fresh and clean, allowing the engine to perform at its best.

When it comes to getting behind the wheel of a new Kia, you have two main financial pathways to consider: leasing or financing. Each option offers unique benefits and could be the perfect fit depending on your personal circumstances and financial goals. At Coughlin Kia of Newark, we’re here to help you understand these options and guide you toward the best decision for your lifestyle.

Leasing: Flexibility and Affordability

Leasing a Kia offers an appealing route for many drivers, especially if you enjoy driving a new car every few years. When you lease, you’re essentially renting the vehicle for a set period, typically 2-3 years. This option often comes with lower monthly payments compared to financing a purchase, as you only pay for the vehicle’s depreciation during the lease term, not its full value.

Benefits of leasing include:

  • Lower monthly payments.
  • Reduced repair costs thanks to the factory warranty.
  • Opportunity to upgrade to a newer model sooner.

Leasing might be ideal for you if you prefer lower upfront costs, drive a predictable number of miles, and like to keep your options open for the future.
